South Lake Angling Club wins award

Councillor Laura Blumenthal nominated Southlake Angling Society for the Mayor's Award for their hard work in looking after the lake.

Speedwatch in Mapledurham

Cllr Isobel Ballsdon and 4 volunteer residents joined PCSO's in Mapledurham Ward to carry out a 2nd speed watch operation in the area.  A number of vehicles were caught speeding  and the top speed recorded was 46mph which is extraordinary in a 30mph zone.

Battle to save Blenheim Road from Developers

The fight goes on to save Blenheim Road residents from the nightmare of development in the woodland behind their back gardens.  The plan for houses has been seen many times in different guises by Reading Borough Council's planning department.

Speedwatch in North Reading

Following concern expressed by lots of residents about speeding on the roads in North Reading Councillors, PCSO's and residents have come together, via the North Reading Safer Neighbourhood Forum, to organise several speedwatch operations in the area.

St John's Road Development planning refused

52 signatures were collected by local residents on a petition to object to retrospective planning permission for a house on St John's Road in Caversham which had been extended and was being used as a House of Multiple Occupation (HMO).

Planting trees in Bugs Bottom

Councillors Jane Stanford-Beale (Association Chair) and Clare Grashoff have been out and about helping The Conservation Volunteers to plant new trees and remove winter vegetation in North Reading.

Objections to Gladman's plans voiced by Cllr Clare Grashoff

Cllr Clare Grashoff addressed Reading Borough Council's Planning Committee on 11 January, voicing Peppard Ward residents' objections to Gladman's outline application to build 245 residential dwellings just over the borough border adjacent to Emmer Green in South Oxfordshire off the Peppard Road.
