Eric Pickles is a passionate politician and his forthright views are expressed clearly with conviction which should make his speech enjoyable and thought provoking. He was elected to Parliament in 1982 to represent Brentwood and Ongar after a career in local government and having been Leader of Bradford City Council. He has held an impressive range of front bench positions including Chairman of the Party. Leading the Department for Communities and Local Government Eric is committed to giving people a greater say over how their communities are run, and wants to hand power down to them through local Government reforms.
