Dr Sharma is our Honorary Life President. He holds this position because of the respect in which he is held by the Association following many years of service as an officer at Association and Area level.
Borough Council Candidate - Thames Ward, Reading Borough Council
I moved to Reading over 10 years ago. Reading is a great place to live but it could be so much better. We all see the state of the roads, the congestion and the increasing level of development. Tragically this year we have also seen a rise in knife crime.
Jenny Cheng was elected to represent Southlake in the 2018 local elections for Wokingham Borough Council. Currently Mayor of Woodley Town she is a hardworking woman who has been on the Town Council for 7 years and has helped many residents.
Michael is directly related to the first president of Switzerland it was natural that his career has always been related to the service of others before self. Firstly, as a regular soldier in the Royal Artillery.
Kay has lived in this South Lake ward for the past 48 years, she has 2 children and several grandchildren. Kay was a Borough Councillor for 18 years and has been a Town Councillor for 24yrs, she and her husband ran the Woodley Junior Snorkel Club and the Thames Valley Octopush Club for 37 years
Mark has lived in Woodley all his life. He spent 32 years as a firefighter before retiring and becoming a Flying Instructor. Mark has been a Councillor since 2015 and amongst other duties has served on the Leisure and Community Services Committee.
Abdul Loyes was first elected in May 2006 as a Councillor in Loddon Ward on Wokingham Borough Council and was elected again in 2011, 2015 and 2019. He has lived in the Borough since 1976 and is married to Nina. They have three children. Abdul runs his own catering business and believes his experience of running a small business is very useful and his knowledge of the local area enables him to recognize the changes needed to improve life in Woodley.
Sam has lived in Woodley for over 50 Years. He has 3 grown up children, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He is now retired after working for many years at Mars confectionery. He enjoys gardening and was involved in fundraising for different charities over the years.
