Jane was elected as Deputy Chairman Political in June 2022. She was previously a Councillor for Peppard Ward, Caversham (now Emmer Green) for 10 years having been elected in 2012. Before standing down in May 2022, Jane was Deputy Group Leader Conservative for Reading Borough Council and also represented the Conservatives on the Royal Berkshire Fire Brigade,

Jane is also a Non Executive Director for Reading Buses and CEO for Autism Berkshire.
