Jane Stanford-Beale

Deputy Group Leader and Peppard Ward Councillor

Jane was re-elected in May 2016 to represent Peppard Ward having first stood for election in 2012.

She has represented local families since moving to Caversham in 1995, as a parent governor, then Chair of Governors at New Bridge Nursery School, and later as the Local Authority Governor.

From 2005 to 2006 Jane was a Non-Executive Director of Reading Primary Care Trust where she chaired the Remuneration Committee and oversaw its merger into Berkshire West PCT. She also chaired the steering group for the Sure Start Caversham Children’s Centre.

Jane is the Conservative Group's spokesperson for:

The final phase of consultation on Reading’s Local Transport Strategy 2036 began earlier this month, including a series of schemes and initiatives to combat the poor air quality and congestion affecting parts of the town.

Following concern expressed by lots of residents about speeding on the roads in North Reading Councillors, PCSO's and residents have come together, via the North Reading Safer Neighbourhood Forum, to organise several speedwatch operations in the area.

St John's Road Development planning refused

Thursday, 16 January, 2020

52 signatures were collected by local residents on a petition to object to retrospective planning permission for a house on St John's Road in Caversham which had been extended and was being used as a House of Multiple Occupation (HMO).
