David Bragg was elected to represent Bulmershe at the May 2018 Woodley Town Council by-election. He's keen to represent his community on the Town Council and continue to pursue innovative ideas to further improve Woodley. He sits on the Planning and Leisure Services committees.
David writes: My family has lived continuously in Woodley since 1959 during which time I have seen the town change hugely from a small parish into a thriving town. Although now divorced, I married at St Johns Church, in Woodley and both my daughters were born here.
I went to The Forest School in Winnersh, cycling each day along the original Perimeter Road, often ducking as the Handley Page, Dart Herald, took off on its many test flights. I then completed my education at Reading Technical College with a course in Business Studies.
After leaving college, I enjoyed a long career in Finance before a major career change to Hospitality and Catering managing pubs and restaurants. In 2002 I moved to France working in a regional French restaurant and teaching basic English to primary school children.
In 2006 I returned to live in Woodley to care for my elderly parents. I’m an active member of the Woodley Camera Club, and am probably a familiar face as I walk my 5 year old Pug Cross daily in Woodford Park and through the town centre. I always have time for a chat to discuss local matters that concern you.
Woodley Town has changed dramatically over the years and with so many exciting new projects coming along I would love the opportunity to represent you as your voice on the Town Council."
