Alison Swaddle - Woodley Town Councillor - Bulmershe Ward

Alison moved here to attend Reading University 30 years ago and never left! She represented Bulmershe & Whitegates ward as a Borough Councillor for 2 years. Both her children attended Bulmershe School and she served 2 terms as a parent governor. Alison is a trustee for Keep Mobile and for the Waterside Centre.

Alison says “Like so many local people I rely on the buses to get to work and to go shopping, I want to speak up for residents and ensure Woodley continues to be a great place to live.”

Mark has lived in Woodley all his life. He spent 32 years as a firefighter before retiring and becoming a Flying Instructor. Mark has been a Councillor since 2015 and amongst other duties has served on the Leisure and Community Services Committee.

Sam has lived in Woodley for over 50 Years. He has 3 grown up children, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He is now retired after working for many years at Mars confectionery. He enjoys gardening and was involved in fundraising for different charities over the years.

Philip has been a town councillor for the last 4 years most of which he has spent on the busy planning committee. His background is in the building industry which is very helpful when discussing the complexities of a planning application.

Majid Nagra - Woodley Town Council - Loddon South

Majid lives in Woodley and it is where his wife and him chose to raise his young family. His daughters attend Rivermead Primary School and Waingels College. The family are active, enthusiastic participants in community events.

Jenny lived in Woodley for 8 years has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. She was a mother and housewife for many years and now spends her time serving the community.  She has been a town councillor for 12 years where she has served on all the committees and was mayor for 2 years.

Kay has lived in this South Lake ward for the past 48 years,  she has 2 children and several grandchildren.  Kay was a Borough Councillor for 18 years and has been a Town Councillor for 24yrs, she and her husband ran the Woodley Junior Snorkel Club and the Thames Valley Octopush Club for 37 years
