I am very proud to have been selected as the Conservative candidate for Church Ward. I have called Reading home for over twenty years, first coming to the area as a student to study at the University. I live in the town with my wife and young daughter and like many parents I am kept very busy juggling the happy demands of work and home life, including home schooling during the COVID 19 pandemic.
Reading is a great place to live and work and it can be even better. There is no doubt that the Council can deliver services much more efficiently and provide residents with much better value for money. A Conservative run council will stop the inflation-busting Council Tax increase, protect our vital green spaces and stop the sell-off of much used local services. I also know how important it is that every child has access to a good school, giving every child the best possible start in life.
I believe in involving local residents in decision making. It’s YOUR money that the Council is spending. As a long-term resident of the town, I have been shocked that the Labour-run Council has not completed the audit of accounts on time for the last four years. This has cost YOU, the council tax payer an additional one million pounds, money that could have been spent on local services for the community rather than on increased audit fees.
Please support me on May 6th.
