There will be a Woodley Community Forum Town Discussion on Wednesday Sept 5th at 6:30pm for a 7pm start in the theatre of The Oakwood Centre by Woodford Park.With Woodley about to grow by more than 15% with greater than 1,000 extra dwellings being built this is an opportunity for you to say what would make Woodley even better. this is not hosted by the Conservatives but is a Community Forum. 


Conservative led Wokingham Borough Council are inviting all local residents to come along to one of the waste and recycling drop-in sessions being organised next month (September.)  Following the introduction of the new waste and recycling service in April, the sessions are designed so local residents can ask questions, find out more about its recent successes as well as top tips on reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill including home composting.  

Chancellor Hails Rob's Successful £500m Heathrow Access Campaign

Rob Wilson, MP for Reading East, has been congratulated by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne MP, for his successful campaign for funding for the western extension of rail access to London Heathrow Airport. The Chancellor singled out Rob’s “enormous contribution” to the project.George Osborne’s comments follow the announcement made on Thursday last week that the Government’s Rail Strategy will include £500million for investment in a western extension of rail access from London Heathrow to Reading and beyond. The great news from the Rail Strategy comes after a campaign led by Rob to bring the massive infrastructure investment to Reading.  

£500 Million Western Rail Access to Heathrow Secured

Rob Wilson, MP for Reading East, has responded to the Transport Secretary and Chancellor of the Exchequer’s announcement that funding has been secured for his campaign for western rail access to London Heathrow Airport by saying he is “delighted at the excellent news that the Government has backed the proposal.” This now means Reading will have a direct rail route to Europe’s busiest airport.

Packed Meeting Discusses Clayfield Copse Park and Ride

 Peppard's Conservative Councillors arranged a meeting tonight at the Emmer Green Youth & Community Centre and a large audience of concerned local people heard Deputy Transport Head Ruth Leuillette explain the Council’s thinking behind the proposed Micro Park and Ride scheme at Clayfield Copse. She then fielded questions from over 100 local residents who raised objection after objection to the Council’s plan.
