Reading Conservatives Call for Crossrail to Come to the Town

Conservative Councillors have lobbied Rob Wilson MP who has had numerous meetings with Ministers to press for a faster Crossrail service from Reading to Paddington at peak hours and to ensure the necessary additional investment for a premium service.

Peppard Conservatives Join RESCUE Effort

Peppard Conservatives joined other local residents to clear an area of rubbish in Emmer Green. A team of nine local people worked together on Sunday in Emmer Green as part of the Council’s RESCUE programme which takes place across the Borough.

Reading Conservatives Call for Council Tax Freeze

 Reading Conservatives tonight set out the case for freezing the Council Tax in Reading.  Speaking at the Full Council meeting, Conservative Leader Cllr Jeanette Skeats said, “Under this Labour administration we are seeing a Council Tax rise of 1.9% and an increase in rent for Council house tenants of 2.9%. At a time when some residents are struggling and having to cut back, we have the Labour Party inflicting more financial pain and pressure on them.” She went on to state that a Conservative administration would aim to reduce the level of Council Tax while protecting front-line services, as had been done in Windsor and Maidenhead. 

Budgens Car Park Works are Completed Ahead of Schedule!

Residents who use Budgens car park in Emmer Green will be delighted to see that the works to improve drainage, resurface and re-line the car park are now complete. The barriers in front of the shops to protect the paved area are also in place.

Third Thames Bridge Public Meeting

Rob Wilson MP is holding a public meeting to bring relevant parties from South Oxfordshire, Wokingham and Reading together to discuss a third Thames bridge. The meeting is at 7.30 pm on Thursday 6 February at Highdown School.
