Reading Conservative Councillors Elect New Officer Team

Reading Conservatives have elected their new Reading Borough Council Group officer team.  Cllr Tim Harris was elected Leader unopposed. He was nominated by Cllr Richard Willis and seconded by Cllr Jeanette Skeats. Cllr Jeanette Skeats was re-elected unopposed as Deputy Leader; Cllr David Stevens was re-elected as Group Chairman and Cllr Richard Willis was elected Whip.

Baroness Warsi joins Female Empowerment meeting in Woodley

Sayeeda Waris spoke at a women's meeting in Woodley last week organised by Bulmershe and Whitegates Conservative Cllr Shahid Younis. She addressed a  female audience of wide ranging ages and backgrounds who were eager to hear why and how she had entered politics

Woodley Councillors working with local Police

Cllr Shahid Younis has been contacted by many Woodley and Earley residents concerned about burglaries. As a result of his meetings with Police,  a ‘Have Your Say’ session was conducted jointly by the Police and the local Councillors on Saturday 26 November in the Precinct.

Shahid welcomes Council's decision to invest £6million in The Bulmershe School

Woodley Conservative Cllr Shahid Younis is delighted that Wokingham Borough Council's Executive  tonight approved a long awaited multi million investment into The Bulmershe School in Woodley. Elected this year, Shahid lobbied hard for more funding and he pledged increased council support and investment in local education.

Baroness Sayeeda Warsi welcomed as Guest of Honour at Berkshire Dinner

Berkshire Conservatives were keen to meet Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Co-Chairman of the Conservative Party and Minister without Portfolio, when she attended a dinner with Conservative members from all the local Associations tonight at the Shehnai Suites on London Street in Reading. 

Dan Hannan MEP welcomed to Reading East

 Dan Hannan spoke to a large audience of Conservative supporters when he visited the Salisbury Club on Thursday 17 November. It was great to see such a mix of members and supporters all eager to hear what Dan had to say and to ask questions.Dan Hannan is one of the four Conservative Members of the European Parliament who represent the South East of England 

Shinfield Road: Call to reinstall roundabouts

Cllr Azam Janjua gives an update on the situation on Shinfield Road, the recent TMAP meeting and the "solution" offered by the Labour minority controlled council. He supports the view widely held by local people that consideration must be given to reinstalling roundabouts.
