 After the counts in Reading and Wokingham the results in the Reading East constituency are as follows:
READING BOROUGH COUNCIL
Abbey - Richard Royal was within 93 votes of winning
Caversham - Tom Stanway beat Labour Cllr Sue Stainthorp by almost 600 votes
Church - Mike Townend beat Labour Cllr Christine Grieve by almost 250 votes - the first time the Conservatives have won the ward in over 20 years
Church By-election - Tim Harris won by 250 votes
Katesgrove - Lib Dems defeated Labour
Park - Wazir Hussain beat Labour in the seat vacated by John Howarth. He won by just 7 votes - the first time the Conservatives have won the ward in over 20 years
Peppard - Richard Willis unseated Lib Dem deputy leader Cllr Annette Hendry with a 450 vote majority
Redlands - Lib Dems defeated Labour
Thames - Cllr Jeanette Skeats was re-elected with a 1,600 majority over the Lib Dem candidate
The Council is now:
Labour 25 (-7)
Conservative 14 (+6)
Lib Dem 7 (+1)
WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL
Bulmershe/Whitegates - Lib Dem hold
Loddon - Kirsten Miller defeated the Lib Dems by 69 votes
South Lake - Lib Dem hold
